Restricted temporary read-only access to your school's Blippit Boards Dashboard is enabled by using 'Guest Access'. This is helpful in the scenario where an external award/accreditation assessor or governor, for example, would benefit from seeing evidence collected using Blippit Boards.
What a guest does and how they are restricted
With Guest Access, your guest can
log in to your dashboard
see boards or chart data
run and receive their own reports
filter charts and export them
What a guest cannot do
log in to the app
add or edit any boards
manage users
How to set up Guest Access
Log in to the Blippit Dashboard as an Admin.
Go to 'Manager Users' -> 'Create Users'
Add the guest email address and the number of days that you want them to have access from the moment they're invited, as shown below.
4. After pressing the 'Add Guest' button, an email is sent to the address entered and your Guest is then listed in your Dashboard of current users as shown below.
The email received by the Guest contains a 'Guest Access Sign In' button to activate their account. This will expire after 1hr. There is also a link below this button in the email for a guest to generate a fresh sign in link if, for any reason, they get an expired message or they sign out. NOTE: Guests cannot extend their given number of days access. This is something only an Admin can do by deleting and recreating the guest account.
Possible extra support for Guest Users
If the guest didn't receive an email as described in step 5
You should check whether they are listed under 'Current Active Guest Users'.
You should check their email address for typos .
If everything looks OK, then click the plane icon under the 'New Link' column to send a second email and let your guest know to check for it in all of their mail folders including junk mail.
When Guest Access times expire
You set a number of days representing the duration of your guest's access from creation. When that time has passed, their access will automatically end. You can invite them again if more time is needed by repeating the 3-steps at the beginning of this article. You can delete and revoke their access at any time by clicking the trash can icon by their listing.
